There is a certain part of the day that is my favorite, most call it the golden hour, I like to call it the "pretty part of the day." During this hour I drop everything. I take a break from costuming, rehearsing, or cleaning to open up the balcony door and drink it all in. I love the way the sun creates a soft golden hue, especially after the harsh light of summer has felt oppressive all day. And I'm especially enamored with the teal blue created in shadows, in the sky, over the water, and between the hills. It's the perfect time to perch on the porch, put my feet up on the table, pour a glass of gin with a squeeze of lime, and glace through a magazine.
